Short bio:
Eva Lynch-Comer is a pushcart prize nominated poet with an MFA in creative writing from Hollins University. She holds a B.A. in creative writing from Hamilton College. Eva is the author of the chapbook, Sonder, which she wrote during her residency with the “Writer by Bus” program in Roanoke, Virginia. Her work has also appeared in over 15 literary magazines including Free Verse Revolution, Honeyguide Literary Magazine, and Nightingale & Sparrow. In her free time she enjoys singing, drinking tea, and walking her dog Osito. Long bio: Eva Lynch-Comer is a pushcart prize nominated, Afro-Latina and African American poet with an MFA in Creative Writing from Hollins University. Eva is the author of Sonder, a chapbook of poems and short stories that she wrote during her residency with the “Writer by Bus” program in Roanoke, Virginia. She was a graduate assistant and a teaching fellow at Hollins University, teaching intro to poetry and fiction. She holds a B.A. in Creative Writing from Hamilton College, where she received the John V. A. Weaver Prize in Poetry and the Sydna Stern Weiss Essay Prize in Women’s Studies. Her poem, "Daisy, Dandelion, Sunflower" was nominated for a pushcart prize by Free Verse Revolution, and her short story "Let Them Grow" was nominated for a pushcart prize by Honeyguide Literary Magazine. Her poems "Mami Wata" and "Strange Fruit" were finalists for the AWP Intro Journals Project. Eva's work has appeared in over 15 literary magazines including Nightingale & Sparrow, Tilted House Review, Blue Earth Review, and elsewhere. Eva previously worked at a publishing house as an assistant editor of children's books. She was also worked as a reading series manager for Lampblack Literary Magazine and she was a poetry editor of the Hamilton College campus literary journal Red Weather. In 2017, Eva received a fellowship from the Hamilton College Levitt Center to study literature by trauma survivors. She traveled abroad in 2018, visiting 7 countries, and chronicled her experiences in a travel blog From London with Love. Her hobbies include playing with her dog Osito, reading fantasy novels, drinking tea, meditating, and journaling outside on her front porch where she can enjoy nature. |
